We had a wonderful trip to Utah. It restored our faith in our family's ability to travel long distances together. We were blessed to stay with wonderful friends. Britt and Jared were the perfect hosts, and their children were as friendly and gracious as they were. Nathan especially enjoyed hanging out with 7 year old Trey, experiencing the pseudo-joy of having a little brother. (Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jenkins Family!) We enjoyed our tour of BYU. Rachel began the tour declaring her plan to attend Stanford, but ended the tour impressed with our "hot" RM tour guide and the wonders of the Museum of Art. Additional highlights included visiting with our friends the Hills and our wonderful Francis family and celebrating the 4th with the aerial fireworks and the Jenkins family at the Cordners (including Robin, Crystal, Paige, and their families).
We had a wonderful time at temple square. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Nauvo Cafe in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Well, some of us had a better time there than others ....

This was our view of the backseat. One plus of electronics--they kept our children from annoying each other.
Nathan really enjoyed these statues. He seemed to experience bouts of silliness and reverence.
Yes, it did rain on the 4th of July.

The one bummer of the trip was missing James's sealing and reception. It sure felt good to arrive back home!

EmmaLee--we stopped to use the bathroom at the rest stop and found ourselves conveniently located next to this lovely tourist attraction. (It was fun blaming all of our stops on the way to Utah on traveling with a 2 year old, but it was really my little bladder.)
Charmayne--we loved seeing you guys and wished we could've spent more time with you! Thank you so much for coming down.
